WHAT IS PLC?

DEFINITION OF PLC

A professional learning community, or PLC, is a group of educators that meets regularly, shares expertise, and works collaboratively to improve teaching skills and the academic performance of students. PLC is ongoing—it is a continuous, never-ending process of conducting schooling that has a profound impact on the structure and culture of the school and the assumptions and practices of the professionals within it.

This is a great video from Teacher Tube that explains clearly the big ideas behind what PLC is all about.
